When will applications close?
Applications for 2023 have closed. Decisions will be announced by early February.
We then expect to re-open for applications in late 2023 to announce new winners in early 2024.
How much can I apply for?
Apply for as much as you need to make your project a success, up to a maximum of USD 2,000 / AUD 3,000.
How many winners will there be?
We will fund projects from top-ranked down, and only stop when we run out of money. The number of winners will depend on how much each leading applicant asks for; in 2022 we had 5 winners, in 2021 we had 9.
Who is behind the Creative Power Award?
The Creative Power Award was co-founded by Rachel Hills and Simon Moss. You can learn more about them here. They are assisted by a small group of creative and professional partners who have personally contributed funding to the awards.
What is the selection process?
An independent team reviews applications against the award priorities and criteria, and conducts eligibility checks on the applicants.
The scored applications are then reviewed by our co-founders, who are the judges for the award.
While every effort is made to assess applications fairly against the criteria, the process is subjective and the judges’ decision is final.
Why only accept applications from Australia and the USA?
The Award is the idea of two Australians in New York - you can meet us here. We want to be a practical support to emerging creators, and our networks are strongest in these two countries.

Can the grant go to an organisation?
We can direct funding to you as the creator, or to an organisation if they are auspicing / supporting your work.
Can I edit my application / save it?
We suggest you draft your application separately and then paste it into the form.
How will I know you received my application?
You will receive an email copy of your application to the address you used to send it. If you received that email, it means we received your application. If you did not receive it, please submit again (but check your Spam folder first!). Please do not email us to confirm receipt of your application.
