The Creative Power Award was founded in 2020 by Rachel Hills and Simon Moss, two Australian culture creators in New York City. We got our start as volunteers and hobbyists, scrapping our way through early ideas, and we know how much of a difference it makes when you have a little bit of extra funding - and when you know that somebody believes in your work.

That’s why we created the Creative Power Award, a small grants programme designed to support emerging creators working at the intersection of art and social justice.
